IS THERE A GOD?
AND IS HE TO BLAME?

As a child I imagined God looked like Colonel Sanders. By the time of my adolescence He had morphed into something more complex and mysterious. Some years later I came upon the following footnotes in Mark Anders ‘Conversations With Naboth’:

• Worship is nonsense.
• Consciousness creates reality.
• The mind and body are not conscious - they are in Consciousness.
• ‘You’ are Consciousness witnessing a body and mind which you mistake for ‘You’.
• ‘You’ are a co-creator of reality.

Hmm! The buck stops with me...

In Conversations With Naboth, Mark Anders continues...

‘If you must, then imagine ‘God’ (All-That-Is, Consciousness, reality, the universe - whatever you call ‘It’) as a ‘Being’ in which all life - from ants to zebras, from bacteria to sequoia - have their essential functions in the ‘body’ of the Being.
Humans, also, have an essential role in the functioning of the Being. Whatever role you play is vital to the continued existence of this ‘Being’.
All experience is necessary - there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ experience. Some life-forms - perhaps you or I - are part of the ‘consciousness’ of this Being, in other words we are to some degree aware of the part we’re playing and able to have some control in life’s co-creation of reality’.

YOU'RE THE SCRIPT-WRITER, DIRECTOR AND ACTOR

  • Buddha
  • Perhaps then, whether we’re aware of it or not, we’re all writers, directors and producers in the creation of our personal and greater reality - you and I, too, are ‘gods’ participating in the creation of reality - the buck stops with you and me.
  • ‘Therefore there isn't a ‘god’ other than ourselves that judges - hence a vengeful and jealous god who punishes imperfection is a projection of our beliefs, just as a loving and compassionate god is. Our ‘gods’ or ‘spirits’ may only be projections of our beliefs: phantasms created for us, and by us through the imagination. Thus our nature is that we are not so much being conscious, rather Consciousness is being us!
  • THE EXTRAORDINARY POWER OF IMAGINATION

We’re endowed with a faculty that is (as far as we know) the most developed amongst all life forms on earth - imagination.
It’s through imagination that we’re self-aware. The extraordinary power of consciousness is directed with the imagination and if we’re unaware of any negative or damaging subconscious beliefs driving the imagination then our life will be out of control. Regardless of whether or not we accept ‘the buck stops with us’, the extraordinary power of the imagination will continue to do its job, that is, it will continue to create our personal reality and co-create reality despite no guidance from us.

When the imagination is in control then we’re at the mercy of its’ projections and illusions. If we take control of our imagination then we’re empowered with greater choice and ability to make conscious changes to both our personal reality and Reality; we’re no longer the victim of imagination but its' commander.
When we are in control of our imagination then we’re able to discern and navigate through the plethora of gods, spirits, guides, delusions and beliefs and reach the sublime realisation that we have no need of them!

    So is there a God?

God knows. However, there certainly are gods.
Next time you clean your teeth smile into the mirror and you’ll see a god smiling back.
